CERTIFIED ORGANIC VEGETABLES in Cecil County, MD YEAR-ROUND

Changing with the seasons, we are continuously harvesting fresh organic vegetables in Cecil County, MD from our fields and high tunnels.

We grow a multitude of vegetable varieties, from arugula to zucchini, if it is in season we probably grow it.

We grow and harvest year round. Our most bountiful season is from May through November, however our season extends well into the winter with storage crops and fresh greens from our high tunnels.

Healthy, nutritious vegetables start with the soil. Each season we work towards balancing our soil's nutrients and increasing the organic matter with the use of cover crops and compost. Healthy plants are better able to protect themselves against pests and disease.

Pasture Raised Meats & Eggs at Flying Plow

Land that is too hilly or fragile for the intensity of vegetable production is maintained in pasture. Our flock of Cheviot sheep, meat chickens, laying hens, and work-horses help us maintain the land by mowing (grazing) and fertilizing (pooping). The pigs are vital in recycling vegetable harvest left-overs and are our muscle for clearing hedgerows periodically.

The chicken, pork, and lamb from these animals is butchered locally and sold by the cut. The eggs from the hens are famously delicious and are available year round (although they are one of our most popular products, so sometimes are hard to snag!)
